Can a high school tow a legally parked car without a visible parking permit if a record of the permit is on file?

[Edit]

Answer

Yes, but you can fight that in court. Next time make sure your decal is visable at all times! Good Luck

Answer

Yes, if the permit is not visible in the car, it's the same as not having a permit. the school is not going to search through their records to find out if they've issued any specific car a permit before having it towed. You may be able to fight it with the school, but you will still be liable for the towing and impound fees. It's possible you may be able to get the school to reimburse you, however, I wouldn't hold my breath. the best bet is to make sure your permit is always properly displayed.
