Are police required to obey all driving laws?

[Edit]

Answer

Police drivers have certain specific exemptions such as speed limits and keep left signs.

There are also specific things that they should not do such as contravene a double white line system.

Generally though there is a catch all policy that police drivers are exempt from normal laws/regulations on the condition that if by complying with those regulations the purpose for which the police vehicle is being used would be hampered.

This does not however allow police drivers to drive in a dangerous manner.
