Answer
Many cars today require that you have your foot on the brake and that hte car is in "Park" (for automatic transmissions) before you can start it. Seems you have a bad connection in the transmission wiring harness if you wiggle it and the car then starts. Pull on the wires, if one pulls out..... thats your problem. If one does not pull out then disconnect the connector and check on the pins and jacks in the mating ends. Good luck with this one, problems like this can really suck ;-(
