1997 1.4 escort how do you change the clutch in this vehicle you do most machanics but never done a clutch so what tools do you need other than sockets etc? |
[Edit] |
Answer
You'll need to pull the engine, which means you'll need an engine lift. Beyond that, you probably have enough tools. Make sure you replace the clutch plate, pressure plate and throwout bearing and make sure you have the flywheel resurfaced. While the engine is out, replace the rear main seal if you can get to it.
No you dont, you can spin the box,if you have a ramp.it will take to long to explain but beleive me i have been fitting clutches for 15 years at one time fitting 45 per month.
