1988 Mazda RX 7 Convertable. Having problems when tachometer reaches 3500 RPM it boggs totally lose's power then when it hits 4000 RPM it kicks back in..Any ideas?

this sometimes occurs when your fuel system has a blockage, usually in the fuel filter. try changing the fuel filter first.

The dreaded 3800 RPM hesitation is cause 90% of the time by poor ground connections between the engine, the battery, and the car. Clean or replace all the under hood ground connections. If there is still a problem after that, look at cleaning the fuel injectors and (on a N/A) that your 5th/6th ports are operating correctly.

I found that the plunger on the vacuum switch near the throttle cale was sluggish - spray WD40 and work loose- spray all linkages, springs and vacuum sdeceleration switch at front of manifold.
